The shocking service and ludicrously priced 'cocktail' that was served to one of my colleagues for her leaving drinks last week is the sole reason I have joined tripadvisor, to leave this review. I've been in before where after a 20 minute wait, we have had to remind the barman to make our cocktails as he continued to serve others after taking our order. On the contrary, the service is woefully slow with only one or two bar staff often manning the bar, even at peak times. For that price you would expect a unique selling point that warrants paying that premium with such good competition in close proximity. Yet with even Bottlecap's own stuff selling at a minimum of £3.40 for 2/3rds, that's a minimum price of £5.10 a pint. However, next door at 6 degrees north, you can get 2/3rds of a pint for £2.55 and Brewdog at the top of the street do pints for £4. The price of the drinks is a particular issue but I appreciate that there is a premium to be paid for craft and foreign beers. I've been to Bottlecap with friends maybe half a dozen times since it opened in 2014 and have to say I have left disappointed on each and every occasion.
